Care for Black & Cream
The Aleria Tote in Noir and Aspen
1. Exterior color preservation
- Prevent color transfer: Shield the cream leather panels from dark denim, raw indigo pigments, or non-colorfast garments to avoid permanent dye migration.
- Initial protection: Prior to first use, mist the exterior with a premium resin-based water and stain repellent (such as Saphir Super Invulner). This creates a barrier against moisture and skin oils without locking in dust.
2. Purple suede interior care
- Dry brushing only: Clean the purple calfskin suede lining exclusively with a dedicated suede brush or a clean crepe ribbon brush. Use gentle, unidirectional strokes to lift dust and restore the velvet nap.
- Avoid liquids & creams: Never apply leather conditioners, liquid cleansers, or oils to the suede interior. Liquids will flatten the nap and permanently stain the vibrant purple pigment.
- Spill management: In the event of an interior spill, immediately blot (do not rub) the area firmly with a dry white microfiber cloth to absorb maximum liquid.
3. Cleaning & conditioning
- Exterior cleansing: Dust the cream and black leather regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For light surface marks on the cream leather, dab softly with a cloth barely dampened with lukewarm water.
- Conditioning: Every 6 months, apply a specialized, wax-free lotion (such as Saphir Nappa Cream) to the exterior black and cream leathers. Apply sparingly with a white cloth, avoiding the suede interior entirely.
4. Storage & handling
- Maintain silhouette: When resting, lightly fill the interior with acid-free tissue paper to preserve its structure without stretching the fine leather.
- Environment: Enclose the handbag in its breathable dust bag and store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and direct heat.

Care for Brown
The Aleria Tote in Cognac
At MBREON, our burnished leather handbags are crafted from premium, full-grain hides that undergo a meticulous hand-finishing process. This creates a deep, multi-tonal edge effect and a beautiful character that shifts over time.
Burnished leather is alive; it naturally darkens, softens, and develops a rich, personalized patina as you carry it. To ensure your handbag lasts a lifetime, follow these essential care instructions.
1. Embracing the patina
- Natural evolution: Scratches, subtle color variations, and surface marks are not defects. They are hallmarks of authentic, high-quality burnished leather.
- The self-healing nature: Light surface scratches can often be buffed out simply by using the warmth of your clean thumb or a soft cloth, rubbing gently in a circular motion to redistribute the natural oils.
2. Daily care & cleaning
- Dusting: Wipe down your handbag weekly with a dry, lint-free microfiber or soft cotton cloth to remove dust and surface debris.
- Spot cleaning: Never use household detergents, saddle soaps, or harsh commercial chemical cleaners. For a light spill, wipe gently with a very slightly damp (not wet) cloth and let it air-dry naturally.
- Test first: If you choose to use a specialized premium leather cream later in its lifecycle, always test a tiny amount on an inconspicuous area (like the inner base) first, as conditioners will naturally darken burnished leather.
3. Moisture & stain prevention
- Water sensitivity: Burnished leather absorbs liquids easily. If caught in the rain, immediately blot—never rub—the water away with a dry, absorbent cloth.
- Drying: Allow the bag to dry naturally at room temperature. Keep it far away from artificial heat sources like radiators, hair dryers, or direct sunlight, which can crack the leather.
- Color transfer: Guard your bag against contact with dark denim, rich dyes, or fresh cosmetics, as unsealed natural leather can absorb transfer colors easily.
4. Storage & shape retention
- Stuffing: When not in use, empty the bag completely and stuff it lightly with acid-free tissue paper or a clean cotton bag pillow to preserve its original structure.
- Environment: Store your handbag upright inside its breathable MBREON dust bag.
- Climate: Keep it in a cool, dark, and dry closet. Avoid plastic storage containers or humid environments, which prevent the leather from breathing and can invite mold.
